Until his gruesome, cowardly slaughter, Father Fausto “Pops” Tentorio, PIME was treasurer of the Board of Trustees of Mindanao Interfaith Services Foundation, Inc. (MISFI) for more than seven years. Before that, he was already an active member of MISFI for more than a decade, as he has been totally immersed with the Lumad in Arakan and their plight since the 80’s.

(Davao City) MISFI facilitated the visit of Anselmo Castelli, founder and president of the Italian Humanitarian group Senza Frontiere (Without Borders) and Don Giuseppe Bergamaschi, parish priest of Castel Goffredo, Montova, Italy in the areas of Sitio Dulyan, Barangay Palma Gil, Talaingod, Davao del Norte and Arakan, North Cotabato last August 11-12, 2011.

(MISFI) again hosted two (2) students from Mindanao State University-Main Campus and two (2) students from University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) starting last April 12, 2011. This is the third year where students from Marawi City-based MSU and Davao City-based USEP participated in the internship program of MISFI.

(MISFI) spearheaded a 17-person contingent coming from four humanitarian groups to distribute relief goods to at least 100 families in Mt. Diwata (Diwalwal), Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province that were affected by massive landslides last January 2011.

Director Percinita J. Sanchez has taken the lead in empowering 39 communities in Agusan del Sur, Davao del Norte, Bukidnon, North Cotabato, Davao City, Davao Oriental, and Maguindanao.
